Weeks in Review: 2/29 & 3/7

Week of 2/29

Monday was a normal day with MMA

Tuesday C had his last day of Art History class and a Battle of the Books meeting, so the other kids and I attended story time at the library where he meets.  He decided to construct a cathedral dome out of clay, we watched a documentary on it the week before.  His art history teacher was impressed with all he knew about it.  He amazes me with what he remembers, can’t remember to put his things away or where he puts stuff, but he remembers all sorts of other information.  He is my little absent minded professor!  He also finished his last week project.

Wednesday normal day with MMA.  We started the morning with some Green eggs and ham and Cat in the Hat kabobs for Dr. Seuss’ Birthday!

Thursday was a fun day with history and science, we watched some you tube videos about elements from the periodic table and made sword, shields and helmets for history.  The two youngest had a class at the library in the afternoon.

Friday was piano and swimming.  My mom came to watch the kids so hubby and I could have a night out.  We woke up to some snow too!  But it didn’t last long.

Saturday was Home Depot kids workshop, see Field Trip Friday

Week of 3/7

Monday started out rough, but ended well.  MMA was cancelled bc our instructor was stuck in FL on a flight delay.  Fine by me!  Sometimes I get sick of running here and there, and it’s about to get really crazy with track starting up next week. We had a nice day at home, we got a lot of fun stuff accomplished.  C has been listening to one of his Battle of the Books books on audio most of the day, but also completed his normal Monday school load.  We also had science with some more YouTube videos and we colored in some stained glass windows to finish off our history section on cathedrals!

They have also been working on this Lego castle.

Tuesday – C had cooking class and Battle of the Books today.  While he was at cooking class we went to get the truck SMOG inspected and went to the grocery store, and then we attended story time while he was at BOB.  Later that night C had cub scouts, and Hubby to c on their ‘date night’, I chilled at home with Z and K.

Wednesday – A normal day and MMA.  C wasn’t feeling well, so he didn’t go.  We are have some issues with his new medicine, so I called the doctor and we are going to try something else.  This whole finding meds that work thing is so stressful!  Ugh!  I hate that we are even at this point, but it wasn’t without lots of prayer and consideration.  I plan to make a post about it at some point, just have to work up to it.

Thursday – co-op, we usually stop by Costco, but we were all exhausted today!  We just went home and chilled!  We did stop by the library on our way home though so C could pick up his 3D print project from the other week.   Z also got his Fred and Kingie dolls in the mail and was totally stoked!

Friday – Piano was cancelled this morning, so we had a bit of extra time to get some things done before swimming. After swimming we watched some YouTube videos on the periodic table and did some reading for History.  I also baked and decorated a cake for a fundraiser we attended in the evening.  A member of our church has a brain cancer and they did a fundraiser/spaghetti dinner to help raise money to cover his medical expenses.  So sad Sad smile  He has a go fund me account, if anyone feels moved to donate as well.    He is very young to be enduring such horrible health trials!  Only about 30 years old!
