My Memories Scrapbooking Software Giveaway

Finally I took the time this past weekend to figure out how to use all the features on the My Memories ScrapbookingSoftware....It's been atleast 6mos since I reviewed the product and hosted a giveaway for it. Back then I just thought it was so-so, but I am finding out just how versatile it is, and I'm LOVING it! I did my first double page spread of my own creation, and really like it! I still have a lot to learn, but this really is a great software!

Here are the two pages I threw together, I got the ideas from the weekly speed scrap challenges post on the MyMemories facebook page each week.  They give you suggestions for how to set up your layouts, you pick the papers, designs, pictures, etc... it's a great way to get the creative juices flowing!

And you can do more than just scrapbook with it...I made a video montage for our Christmas ecard (that I posted here on the blog) and I have made a variety of homeschooling items too, like counters, math mats, etc..  There are always lots of great ideas at the MyMemories facebook page, someone just recently posted a shirt they made using the software, seriously, the possibilities are ENDLESS!

There is a bit of a learning curve, but once I sat down and watched a few tutorials and played around with it a bit, it was EASY to learn!

Now onto the BEST news, I'm giving away My Memories v3 to one lucky reader!

Also, all of my readers are able to purchase v3 at a $10 discount, and receive an additional $10 towards My Memories store purchases!  Just visit www.mymemories.com and use the code STMMMS57311.  Then visit my blog each week to receive a FREE template to add to your My Memories digital library!  (See my right sidebar).

My Memories Suite Digital Scrapbooking Software - Review, Coupon and Giveaway

My Memories Suite is a Digital Scrapbooking Software Program, but it is much more than just scrapbooking,  you can make cards, announcements, calendars and more.
The program itself cost $39.97 and is an instant download (a back up CD can be purchased for an addition fee of about $5).  This program contains several digital paper packs and embellishments.  A larger variety is available for purchase at the My Memories Store, however there is a wide arrange of items available for FREE and for prices as low as 99cents.
The software is fairly easy to navigate, with a little bit of trial and error I was able to figure everything out in a reasonable amount of time.  I made all you see below in about an hour with the FREE items My Memories has available (with exception of the sun on the calendar, that was a purchased as part of the Summer Beach Pack).
There is a wide variety of paper packs available, including some Latter-Day Saint (aka ‘Mormon’) themed packs, I really want to make a book out of the Proclamation on the Family paper pack (available for purchase for $8.99).
Paper packs can also be purchased and used in other scrapbooking software, including Photoshop.

PROS:
More than just scrapbook pages
Can save as JPEG at no additional cost
Can order prints anywhere (Costco has great prices for photo prints, including 12x12 sizes)
Can make your own pages or use quick pages (just add pictures)
Do not need internet connection to use software (only to download purchases)
No uploading photos, the software can read your computers photo albums
Pages sizes other than 12x12 are available
Digital tutorials available for those who may need extra instruction, and are recommended to get the full effect of what the program can do (this could be a con as well, b/c watching tutorials is time consuming).

CONS:
limited selection of FREE packages
Additional purchases needed to add to your paper collection, this is not a one time purchase
when making pages it is not set up in a double spread format (I like to make my pages side by side)
You can’t ‘try before you buy’ the paper packs or the software (and I 'bought' one I didn't really care for)

winter-001winter-002winter-003winter-004
These are quick pages (Christmas – Holiday Snow).  I made some embellishment changes on page 3.  This packet is available with your software download.
calendar-001
Easy calendar available for FREE from the  My Memories Store.  I changed the colors, embellishments and text.  Sun is from the Summer Beach Pack)
trial2-001
Digital Paper Pack – Time to Play, available for FREE at the My Memories Store.

If you would like to purchase My Memories Suite, use coupon code STMMMS57311 for $10 off the software purchase and $10 off of additional store purchases.

Studio J–Digital Scrapbooking

I have always been a really big fan of traditional scrapbooking, but with the move and now 3 kids running around, I don’t have much time to sit down and scrap!  So I decided to give Studio J from Close To My Heart a try….and I’m in LOVE!  I can quickly and easily do my scrapbook pages, with no mess, I can stop in the middle and not have to clean up or leave things laying around.  I don’t have to have pictures printed, I can post them to pages in any size I want without having to order enlargements.  I don’t need scissors, glue, buttons, paper cutters or other tools!  It’s great!  All I need is my computer and my digital pictures on it!

Some other things I like, you never run out of your favorite paper or the stickers that match (especially the ABC stickers).  Best for me is I don’t spend hours thumbing through layout books trying to decide which one to use and which paper to use with it!!

Now, I will not 100% replace my traditional scrapbooking, because, let’s face it, I’m a traditional girl!  But I have felt so accomplished as I have been able to do some long time needed scrapbooking!

Check out what I have done – (click on image to make it bigger)
