Weekend – It was our anniversary weekend! 13years! So my aunt watched the kids Friday night so we could go out to dinner, and then my parents came on Saturday to watch the kids as well. We spent the day at the temple and then went out to an early dinner before heading home. Snow had started falling by that point. It was a COLD weekend! The snow didn’t amount to much…so we went to church on Sunday. My parents had a rough time getting home Saturday night though, but luckily they made it safe and sound. They were going to take the kids to CEC while we were gone, but we had a flat on the Suburban and didn’t know…so they couldn’t go anywhere.
Monday- President’s Day…Hubby was home! We headed to the Railroad Museum in Baltimore (did you see it at Field Trip Friday this week?) Was a good time. It was nice to not have to drive into Baltimore by myself too…I get major anxiety when I have to.
Tuesday – Hubby got his long awaited snow day, work was closed! The kids were thrilled. They walked out to the park behind our house to do some sledding! Scouts was cancelled as well, so it was a nice evening at home!
Wednesday – Back to the grind…today was the one and only day that we had a ‘normal’ school day. We didn’t get through everything though, but since this was really our only day this week, I figure at least we did something! HA! MMA in the afternoon while I ran to the grocery store! We had a bit of snow in the evening so Lego Club was cancelled…another quiet evening home!
Thursday - A friend from church who is a German Native came over to talk to C about her childhood in Germany, it is part of his language and culture belt loop for Cubs, the he rushed off to cooking class, his first one. After lunch I took us all to a friend house to help prepare decorations for the Blue and Gold Banquet this week. Then after hubby got home, I dropped all off at MMA and went back to the grocery store, I left a bag of groceries there after check out and had to pick them up, plus grab some powdered sugar! Got home and grabbed some stew in a cup and hit the road to church so I could go out with the sister missionaries! Was a BUSY day! I got Z upgraded to a higher level in Great Parents Academy (a review we are doing) and he is much happier doing lessons now! yeah!
Friday – C has the Blue and Gold Banquet tonight, and they cubs are each suppose to decorate a spaced themed cake….C had all the ingredients measured out before I even got out of bed! Cooking with the kids really stresses me out (I don’t know why, but it does), this is usually hubby’s job…but we didn’t get it done before now. After his cooking class yesterday, C must have just been really inspired to cook…he brought me toast in bed and made toast and scrambled eggs for his brothers. We learned a few things, like don’t dump oil down the sink just b/c you measured it wrong, and don’t use a fork in my coated pans to scramble eggs :yikes:. But all in all the morning wasn’t too bad (stressful, but not too bad). We got the cake baked, and icing made….just have yet to decorate it. Will have to check instagram later to see the finished product!
Now this afternoon I have to make a Costco run (in this freezing weather! It was 0 degrees this morning! No swimming today, next session starts next week!
