My abscence

If you follow me on Facebook, you are probably already aware of where I've been the last several months. After a much needed 10yr anniversary trip with my husband to Alaska, we found out we were expecting #4. This was in May. My parents had been visiting for 3 weeks, and then shortly after my mother-in-law came for a 3 week visit of her own. The pregnancy had me very sick, much worse than the other 3. I lost 9 lbs the first trimester, and ended up in the ER once for IV fluids. Considering my starting weight was only 125, 9 lbs is pretty significant. Finally around 16 weeks, the nausea had subsided, but I was also sick with severe allergies (seasonal), being limited to what medications I could take. I also had some Lupus related problems due to not taking my medication regularly (because of constant vomiting). I met with the Fetal Maternal Health Doctor at 16wks, and despite a cold, things were looking good. I went at 18wks to have a routine sonogram and much to our disappointment, we found the baby had died. I have had 2 previous miscarriages at 8 wks, but never did the idea of losing a baby so far into a pregnancy ever really seem like a possibility to me. I mean, I have had 3 healthy full term babies. It was very disheartening, especially after 16 weeks of pure pregnancy misery; to have such a tragic end to it all. I just had a D&E this past Thursday, and am starting to feel like my old self physically. We've been doing a very lite load of schooling the last month, but hope to be back in full swing in the next week or two. Which will include blogging again!! First things first I have to get this house cleaned up, hubby did his best to maintain it, but it needs some serious TLC!!

  4. I am so very sorry for your loss. I've had a couple of miscarriages in early pregnancy and those were difficult enough. I can only imagine what you feel. My thoughts are with you.

  5. I am so sorry for your loss. Having had several miscarriages myself I feel your pain. The only good thing that came out of it for me was that my husband and I adopted a child with special needs. We are in the process of our second special needs adoption. I will pray for you in the days ahead. Hugs and once again I am so sorry for your loss.

  8. I am also sorry for your lost. Take care of yourself and don't be too hard on yourself about getting back to "normal" again.

  9. I'm so sorry to hear about your difficult summer. After investing so much time and energy I can't imagine how devistating it must have been. Anything you can do to return to your old normal and routine is bound to help get you through. Keep strong.
