Review: Egglo Entertainment (TOS Review)

PicMonkey Collage

Who doesn’t like an egg hunt?  We were thrilled (the kids especially) to check out Egglo Entertainment’s Glow in the Dark Egglo EggsIn addition we also received The Egg-cellent Easter Adventure book, Egglo Treasures Scripture Scrolls, Egglo Bible Verse Stickers and The Egglo Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt Event Curriculum

My kids LOVE Easter Egg hunts and talk about them year round, I knew they wouldn’t have any issue getting to do one early this year!  Even more fun, these Easter Eggs glow in the dark!  It’s like the best of both worlds!

First we read The Egg-cellent Easter Adventure book.  The kids really enjoyed the story.  I think they were a bit disappointed that our eggs would not time travel us around the world though.  They had a lot of fun traveling along with the characters in the story though.  It made way for some geography lessons.  The characters visit the pyramids in Egypt and Easter Island!  They do some scuba diving too!  Lots of fun, and several ways to have spin off lessons (that aren’t necessarily Easter related, but educational nonetheless).  The book is beautifully illustrated, as well.

After reading the story, the kids helped stuff the eggs with the Treasures Scripture Scrolls and Bible Verse Stickers.  We then placed the eggs under direct light (as instructed) to charge them, so they would glow!

While the eggs charged up, we made an Easter snack.  This snack is one of several listed in The Egglo Glow in the Dark Hunt Event Curriculum.  The curriculum guide is filled with lots of ideas, particularly for large groups, but easily adapted for smaller groups or families. The curriculum guide also includes coloring pages, decoration ideas, invitations and more.  All you need to do an event for your church, youth group or family!

That evening, after the eggs absorbed light for a good amount of time, we hid the eggs in the basement.  Since it’s cold outside right now and the ground is covered in snow, we figured it best to hide them indoors.  The kids had so much fun looking for them!  They were so excited to have their scrolls read, then we tried to find the matching stickers to each scroll.  We talked about the verses and what they meant.  We talked about how the glowing eggs represented The Light of Christ, and how we are commanded to be a light also.  Included with the curriculum are some question cards to use during the egg hunt to help spark these conversations.

Make sure you head their advice to use flashlights, even with glowing eggs and indoors.  It can be hard to see.  My kids didn’t want to use flashlights and one stubbed his toy on the fireplace hearth.  OUCH!  Hunting outside could be even more dangerous with sticks, rocks, uneven ground and other hazards!  Be sure to be safe, or it’s not much fun!

Once the eggs hunt was over, and the kids had emptied all the eggs…I snagged a few for my Easter wreath!

The eggs that were still left have been re-hidden several times by my kids, having their own little egg hunt. (I told you, my kids love egg hunts!).

Egglo Entertainment has several other products to complement their eggs (which we did not receive for this review).  An Egglo Kit (which includes all of these items and more!) can be purchased for $50 (current sale price) online.  Items can also be purchased individually, prices vary.

These products are fun for every age! It’s a great way to bring the true meaning of Easter into your home.
