Week 19-21 in Review!

week

I took some time off from blogging over the holidays, and therefore am behind in our weekly reviews!  Let’s see if I can even remember what we have been up to, some days it’s hard to even remember that morning…let alone 3 weeks ago!

This one is chalk full of pics and fun…I mean 3 wks is a LONG time!

12/20-21  Kids returned to their Past Times class at the Carroll County Historical Society.  It is held once a month, they went 5 times in 2014 (they were suppose to go 6, O well).  We have registered again for 2015…they will attend Feb – July.  It’s a great little class that is taught by a former Kinder teacher.  It teaches kids hands on history of Carroll County!  This was c’s first time attending, since he just recently turned 4.  Sunday was church day!

12/22 – Last day of MMA until after the holidays.  c has joined in since turning 4 and is really enjoying it!  We did Polar Express Themed activities this week…and watched a few Christmas Movies.

12/23 – Dentist appointments all around!  Good reports, thankfully!  Speech for c.

12/24 – Yes we had school today…hubby was working, so why not?  We did some fun stuff though…Holiday themed!

We had our Christmas Eve Traditions of Christmas Jammies and Watching Mr. Krueger's Christmas!
We may have started a new one as well….Chinese Take Out for Dinner!  Apparently a lot of people have that tradition, because they were BUSY!!

2014-12-24 19.04.23

My parents came up that night to stay and be here for Christmas as a surprise for the kids…though C found out about 1am when he snuck downstairs to check out his stocking and turned to the lights on!  Ooops!  That kid didn’t sleep all night he was so excited!

12/25 Christmas!  It was a really nice morning!  Two of my brothers came up later in the morning to spend the day and we had a yummy Christmas Linner! (Lunch/Dinner).

(It’s funny in every picture there seems to be one kid missing from it…always a different kid!  Ha!)

12/26  Hubby had the day after Christmas off….honestly I don’t remember what we did!  Ha!  Same goes for that weekend, aside from church on Sunday!    I’m sure fun was had and gifts were played with!

12/29 Hubby was back to work, so we were back to school!  We were off from MMA for the week so we basically never left the house until Thursday!

12/31 School Again!

We had a small little New Year’s celebration but all went to bed early, we are not night owls in this house!

1/1 We hit the road after lunch to head to my parent’s house.  We went to CiCi’s with my dad for dinner (or Reeces Pieces as C called?  say wha?). My mom was working.

1/2  Hubby helped my dad insulate their ceiling so the kids and I were kicked out of the house for several hours.  We did some ‘shopping’.  I had to pick up a few last minute things for our Christmas gathering on Saturday.  I have been crafting like crazy lately…loving it!  I had to get some jars for these candles I made.

The left was for my parents 37th wedding anniversary and the right was for my grandma for Christmas.  I also made these wreaths – the bottom was for Grandma for Christmas as well.

Then we hung out at the Mcd’s with my youngest brother for a bit.  We spent the evening playing Ticket to Ride with my parents!  So fun!  (It was a Christmas Gift from me to hubby!)

2015-01-02 21.29.01

1/3 My grandma, brothers (minus the one that lives in Texas) and my brother’s fiancĂ© came over to celebrate our Christmas.  We draw names as siblings, the kids each got a little something too and My middle bro and his fiancĂ© hadn’t had Christmas with my parents yet…so they got gifts.
Here are the hats and scarves they bought my mom and I.  So cute!

We headed home that night….traffic was horrible, so we took an alternate route and it took us about 40min longer than usual to get home.  It was dark and late, the kids slept the whole way, we ate dinner at like 7pm and amazingly the kids all still went to bed!

1/4 Church – our ward switched to morning time (9a-12p) and amazingly we got out the door and were on time!!  Made the day seem so much longer to have all that time in the afternoon at home!  (Before we met from 1-4p)

1/5 Back to our normally scheduled programs! School and MMA!

1/6 We got some snow!  My kids are so not adjusted to cold weather, I mean 3 years in Hawaii where 65 is cold.  They were super excited about the snow though….they lasted 10-15min each…that was all!

2015-01-06 07.57.422015-01-06 09.42.502015-01-06 11.50.29

1/7  Today was COLD!  My oldest insisted on going out and proving me wrong that he wouldn’t stay longer than 5min…he stayed 30min (I think).  We didn’t go to MMA b/c well, I didn’t want to go out!  They will make it up Thursday night!  All the boys wanted to go out later in the afternoon….they lasted about 5-10mins….Baby K wanted to go with them, I gave in.  But the time I got her bundled and out the door, the rest were coming in, one in tears that his hands were cold (mitten fell off in the snow).  The boys started an online Intro to Architecture class as well. I have to hit the Dollar Tree up for next week’s materials!  Z read the first two Bob Books on his own today!  (needed a little help with Book 2).  C had JrFLL meeting, hubby is coaching…and it’s going well (I’m glad, I was nervous about it!)  They had break over the holidays, he was excited to get back at it.  They have Expo the end of Feb.

1/8  Today was a rough day!  (it’s actually been a couple of rough days this week, but this was exceptionally rough!)  I think part of it is me having sugar withdrawals, add in the cold weather, achy body and then C has been playing this game we are reviewing in the mornings (he has over stimulation problems).  So we are making some changes!  I brought the diffuser down to the school room (FINALLY!! I keep meaning to and forget).  I also seriously did some contemplating and praying about it.  I’ve decided he can’t do any of the stimulating games in the mornings before school….we are going to do them at 3pm only and see how that works.  They are educational, so I don’t want to cut them unless I absolutely have to.  I also decided that if the computer can affect him negatively, it can affect me negatively.   I am not getting on computer until 1pm….from 1pm to about 2pm will be my ‘office hours’.   I will make a to do list in the morning to better manage those hours.  I removed Facebook from  my iPad so I’m not tempting to sneak a peak during school time.  I will again have ‘office hours’ from b/w 7-9pm roughly most weeknights.  Anyhow…

We had a class today at the Robinson Nature Center in Columbia.  Our first time there, but it was a fun class…the kids enjoyed it.  More details on next weeks FTF!

2015-01-08 14.14.48

1/9  Easy day, I was going to take the kids to the Science Center, but since we never made it to Costco yet….I had to go there.  C only had to do a Math page and some History.  He was thrilled!  (The history we didn’t get to yesterday).  He is looking forward to 3pm!  Costco is always a mad house with 3 kids….and to top it off I thought I ordered like 200+ pics to scrapbook, but they weren’t there….I found them still sitting in my cart online!   Ugh!    It’s been so cold here (like unusually cold for this area) and my cousin made the cutest hats for the kids that came as a surprise in the  mail!

2015-01-09 12.23.39

PHew!  That was a busy 3 weeks!  Hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  If you stuck with me through it all, I’m impressed!  HAHA!

Next week is going to be BUSY!!  We have a trip to DC to the Builder’s Museum and may hit up the Science Center since we didn’t this week (It’s Homeschool Days right now).
