I’m Thankful for… week 1 & week 2

1-001_thumb

1:  I guess it's cliche' to start the days of thankfulness off with family...but it's true! I'm very grateful for my family...all of them! They all play such a unique role in my life! But to spread it thinner, I'll dtart with my parents. I'm grateful for my parents and the great job they did raising me (I know I wasn't always easy), I'm grateful for the great friends they are to me now and the great grandparents they are for my kids! love ya both

2: I'm grateful for my kids, they make me crazy a lot of the time, but they also make my life worthwhile! I love them with my everything, and wouldn't trade them for anything!

3: I'm grateful for my husband. He is a great day to the kiddos, and he is my best friend! I can't imagine life without him and I'm so grateful he puts up with me (though I put up with him too! lol). In all seriousness, I wouldn't trade him or the relationship we have built over the last 14yrs for anything or anyone. I'm glad he is mine for Eternity!

4:  I'm thankful for homeschooling! It's not always easy, and some days I may question why?!!?? But, I really love being able to spend the time with my children and have a such a huge role in teaching and molding them into the adults they will one day become. I love the flexibility that it allots. We spent the day at the Museum of Industry today, the kids had a blast with friends, and learned as well! I wouldn't have it any other way!

5:  I'm thankful for our co-op! It really has been the perfect fit! They are a great bunch of ladies, and the kids have so much fun! Today they had a market day, and the kids sold stuff they made, they had a blast! This was in addition to their classes and playing with friends. A fire truck was suppose to come too, but I guess they got a call and never showed... BUT... I just love that my kids are able to have these experiences and that I am able to be a part of it!

6: I'm thankful for the Jesus Christ, for his sacrifice for me that I may be able to return again to him and to be with my family for eternity! The gospel brings me so much peace in a world with so much uncertainty.

7: I'm thankful for a weekend away! I'm so grateful that I have a husband that can run the household solo, and allows me to take much needed ME time!

8: I'm thankful for the beautiful fall colors and the fresh air. At scrapbook retreat a took a couple walks in the woods, it felt good to breath the fresh air, feel the cool breeze and take in the beautiful colors (though most of the leaves have already fallen to the ground). I really missed the change of seasons while living in Hawaii.

9: I'm grateful to be living in MD, I know we may not always be here, and I'm okay with that. There are lots of things to not like about Maryland, but I do love being close to my family, that it's slightly cheaper than Hawaii, that there is a great homeschool support system here, I've made friends and my kids have too. It is a beautiful place to live. You can find good and bad no matter where you are, and I choose to emphasize the good!

10: I’m grateful for my extended family members.  My aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, the list could go on and on!  The family is the biggest support system, and though I don’t see most of you very often, I think of you often and love and appreciate the people you are!

11: I am thankful for all the Veteran’s, those that are willing to serve in the military to help keep our country safe and to keep it OURS!  I am thankful for their families and the support that they give.  Being in the military is not easy, but being a relative (particularly children and spouse) of someone in the military is also not easy.  Thank you for your sacrifices!

12: Thankful that I was able to finish the Whole30 and for the amazing results I have seen/felt.  I’m so grateful for these amazing resources that are out there, but most importantly I feel that this was an answer to prayer…which brings me to….

13: I’m thankful for prayer!  I’m so glad that I have a Father in heaven who loves me and is aware of me and my needs.  I’m so grateful that he answers prayers and leads and guides us, when we let him.

14: I’m thankful for a living prophet today, to help lead and guide us in this troublesome world.

I am thankful for: Week #4

#21 - I am thankful for Q's job. He has a great job with great benefits, that provides us with the money we need to pay our bills! His getting the job in the first place was nothing short of a tremendous blessing and the answer to prayers! The Lord really helped us out on that one, and it has been a great job that has done very well for our family, and brought us here to beautiful Hawaii!

#22 - I'm thankful to be able to have the extra funds to enjoy extra curricular activities, we are blessed for the most part not to have to live pay check to pay check. I am grateful that Q has always been a stickler on NO DEBT, it has truly been a blessing!

#23 - I'm thankful for this beautiful world we live in, I have traveled to many places and every place I've been the beauty and variety has been different from the place before! Heavenly Father certainly did his best to not make this a boring world to live in...there is beauty and variety all around us!

#24 - I am thankful to have been able to celebrate Thanksgiving with so many of my ward (church) family, since I am far away from my own family. It's so great to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, its the one constant in our lives when we relocate to a new place!

#25 - I'm thankful to have been able to go on a date with 'C'...he drives me crazy most days, but it was fun to have some one on one time with him. Even if they movie was not all that great. (haha)

#26 -I'm thankful for the rain, even though it can put a damper on our day...it makes the beautiful greenery GREEN all around us and usually results in a beautiful rainbow as well!

#27 - I'm thankful for the freedom and ability to be able to homeschool my kids. I know it's not for everyone, and not everyone agrees, and some days I get super frustrated, but all in all it's a great experience, and I wouldn't want to miss it for the world!

I am Thankful for: Week #3

#14 - I'm Thankful for my extended family, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, BILs, SILs, nieces and nephews! I have an amazing family, and so does Q. We are so blessed. Wish I could see them all more often, but they all hold a special place in our lives, and I'm blessed to call them family!

#15 - I'm thankful for technology - facebook, skype, words with friends, etc... for allowing me to stay 'close' to all my beloved family and friends even though I'm thousands and thousands away from many of them.

#16 - I'm thankful for the opportunity I have to stay home with my children, I know now everyone can afford to do so, and even though some days they drive me crazy, I wouldn't trade it for the world!

#17 - I am thankful for my health and the health of my children, so many people in this world have health struggles. Life is such a precious thing. I think too many of us take it for granted. Prayers to those that are struggling with their health or if their loved ones are struggling.

2nd one for today - I'm grateful for the guy that told me my skirt was stuck in my ergo and I was flashing the entire store, and I'm thankful he told me not to long after I left the bathroom...therefore I only flashed a small portion of the store. I could tell he was really embarrassed to tell me, but not nearly as embarrassed as I WOULD have been had I found out much later in my shopping journey! hahaha

#18 - .I'm thankful for my education, it took my a lot longer than some to get my degrees in, but I'm thankful I was able to do it non-the-less. And even more thankful that a lot of it was FREE!

#19 - I am thankful for this house we live in. We were so lucky to find such a great house and such a great deal. Our landlord is a great guy, we really are SOOO lucky. I love this house!

#20 - I'm thankful for weekends! I'm thankful that Q works a job that gives him weekends off to spend with the family...or to watch the kids so I can have some sanity time! lol

I am Thankful for: Week #2

Okay, I know I said this was going to be my Sunday posts for this week, but since I’m on the other side of the world from most of you, it will most likely be Sunday when you read this anyhow!  haha   But sorry, this one is a day early!

#7 - I am thankful for the Priesthood in my life, for a husband who honors his Priesthood, and for the many miracles I have seen come forth by it’s power and strength.

#8 - I am thankful for my parents, who beat all odds and have been married for 34yrs this year! They did the best the could to raise me, and did a pretty good job! Thanks Mom and Dad!

#9 - I am grateful for my brother's. The brats that they were growing up, prepared me for the boys I have in my life now! (lol). But seriously, I love you guys and want the very best for you

#10 - Today I am thankful for my MIL for raising such a great son, who loves the gospel, honors his priesthood, and is a great husband and father! Thanks Verna, you did a great job! And to my FIL, Dave, who gave Q lots of memories of time spent with him, and made him want to give the same memories to our kids

#11 - Today I'm thankful for our Freedom, a price which didn't come FREE...Thank you to all the military men and women that have work and do work to keep those freedoms!

#12 – I am thankful for the Temple, that I am sealed to my family for all ETERNITY.  I’m grateful that we have always lived close to one, and that we are able to go there often!

#13 – I am thankful for my Grandma and Grandpa Hilsinger and my Nana Stone.  For the special part they played (and still play) in my life!  Only Grandma H is still with us here on Earth, but I think of all of you everyday and miss and love you all dearly.

I am Thankful for:

So I was trying to decided what to blog about this evening, for the first time since I started my blog, I actually did not have anything planned ahead of time!  Hard to believe, I know….

With Thanksgiving steadily approaching, I decided to contribute my Sunday posts this month to the many things I am thankful for in my life.  To often we take for granted all that the Lord has blessed us with (and I am not exception).

So each week I will post one thing for each day that I am thankful for….

Here we go!

#1 – I’m thankful for my savior Jesus Christ, who died for me, so that I can repent of my sins and return to live with my Heavenly Father one day.
#2 – I’m thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who sent his son to be sacrificed for all the world (that could not have been easy!)
#3 - I'm thankful for a wonderful, hard working and loving husband who helps around the house, and is a great father to our children.
#4 - I'm thankful for C - my first son, who may drive me crazy every once in awhile, but is a bundle of energy, curiosity, and is a great big brother (most of the time).
#5 - I'm thankful for Z - our little comedian, who is almost always in a great mood, is very lax and easy going, and a total goofball!
#6 - I'm thankful for c - the littlest guy, who is finally sleeping through the night! (though that's another thankful of it's own!). I love to see his little personality blossom, he is such a joy!
