Lavender – Lavender is very calming and works great to relax baby. Is baby overtired and not able to fall asleep? Put some lavender on baby’s feet or put in the bath water. It is also helping when baby is teething, or has an upset stomach. lavender is also works well on diaper rashes, and can be used in homemade diaper wipe solution.
DigestZen – This is a dOTTERA specific brand. Does baby have an upset stomach? Is s/he colicky or gassy? Put some digestzen on baby’s feet or mix with coconut oil and rub on baby’s tummy.
Eucalyptus – Is baby congested? This is great for head or chest colds. Rub on baby’s feet, or dilute with coconut oil and put on baby’s back. You can also diffuse this oil into the air. I use this one a lot myself for colds and allergies.
Melaleuca – like lavender, melaleuca is great for homemade wipes solution and diaper rashes.
On Guard – great to help prevent and beat illness. Rub on babies feet or diffuse in the air. Keep those germs at baby and save baby from getting ill! This is also a dOTERRA specific blend.
**Honorable Mention**
Clove – Mix with fractioned coconut oil and rub on babies gums to help with teething
NOTE: always dilute oils with coconut oil before applying to babies skin. You can also use grape seed oil or olive oil. However coconut oil is much lighter.
DISCLAIMER: I am a dOTERRA consultant, I use dOTERRA products and I recommend them. I can not speak for any other brand of oils and I highly recommend you thoroughly research the brand before using on your baby! All essential oils are NOT created equally! These are in no way a replacement for proper medical care, nor do I claim these are a cure for any ailments. Research and choose for yourself before using on your child.

Thanks I learned something new. When my were little there wasn't much talk about essential oils. I've heard more and more about them lately.
ReplyDeleteI came over from Blogging Through the Alphabet. I love your post, I would love to learn more about essential oils and different ways to use them. I only have 2 bottles right now, I have lavender & basil.
ReplyDeleteI know you can put them into homemade soaps and laundry detergents, but that is about all I know. I am now a follower.
I am also a homeschool mom. Please feel free to visit our blog.
God bless.
