Week in Review (1/4 & 1/11)

week_thumb

We spent the weekend with my family, and had our 2nd Christmas.  We also hit up the Home Depot Workshop (see my FTF post).

Week of 1/4

This was our first week back to most of our extracurricular activities, we started a new one, as well.  We don’t start back to co-op until the end of the month, but otherwise, I felt like we dived in head first this week!

Monday – Back to our “normal” schedule.  We started back to MMA today!  Had a normal day of school and I was able to run to the grocery store (mostly) kid free!  Yes!  The kids had a blast at MMA too!

Tuesday – C started a Art History course for homeschoolers through Parks and Rec.  We dropped him off and the rest of us headed to the library for an hour.  I thought the class ended at 1130, but I guess it ended at 11!  (oops!) Luckily a friend was there and held C for me until I got there.  C also had his battle of the book meeting, he is now on his 4th book.  He is so excited to have won the BINGO game they played and his prize was a $5 GC to FIVE BELOW.  While in his meeting I took the other 3 to storytime at the same library (it’s great that they are all at the same time!).

Wednesday – Normal school day, kids had MMA again.  Nothing to exciting other than that!

Thursday – We had a light day, where they do just Reading/Math and then we do Science and History as a family.  For Science we had fun doing some experiments with Chemical Reactions, and for History we watched IvanHoe and also completed Unit 10 of Pandia Press History Odyssey, Level 1 Middle Ages. Next up is Joan of Arc!

In the afternoon the two youngest had a preschool class at the library.

Friday – The kids started piano lessons and headed back to swim lessons!  We hit up Costco afterwards, and that was about a DAY!

We headed to my parents for the weekend, my ‘baby’ brother had his missionary farewell.  He has been called to serve in the Pocatello, Idaho mission for 2 years!  He is so excited and we are so happy for him!

Week of 1/11

This week was just a typical week.  MMA, Art History, Piano, Swimming… we did see a puppet show on Thursday (see FTF) and c and Z will have their Past Times history class on Saturday.  C has a ‘date’ night with his dad to see Star Wars and K and I will be doing some freezer meals with my aunt for Whole30!

Some exciting things from the week:

We had 80 quail eggs and 45 of them hatched this week, we lost a few post hatch though Sad smile

Quail

I have also joined a Declutter group and started a new weekly cleaning checklist!  I have all this new found energy (thanks to Whole30) and I am excited to finally get this place cleaned!  (it wasn’t horrible, but it def could use some help!).  (See my Word for 2016 post)

One of the most exciting projects this week, was straigtening the kitchen (as part of the decultter group)…no more piles everywhere!  I also scrubbed the hall bathroom (and I mean SCRUBBED, mom’s of boys, I’m sure you understand) on Wednesday!  I really organized it too, and it looks great!  (Something I have been meaning to do for awhile)

C made these cool rubber stamps at his Art History class this week too

Thursday didn’t pan out as planned bc C started not feeling well after our field trip.  We didn’t accomplish much, but we did watch Joan of Arc from BYUtv, it was great!  History? check!

Friday everyone was well.. so same old, same old! I however was exhausted… 2 youngest have been having nightmares, and broken sleep does not do well for me!  We did manage to get in science though!
