Guaranteed to brighten any day! Today was dark, wet and gloomy and I had the mood to match it…. when what should arrive??!!
STITCH FIX!
If you aren’t familiar wiht Stitch Fix, it’s a wardrobe subscription program, where you get your OWN PERSONAL STYLIST to pick our your clothes each package!
It’s great, it’s a little bit of what I DO FOR ME after all I do for my family!
You can find out more and make a profile for yourself HERE
You pay a $20 styling fee with his package (which is deducted from the cost of the items you choose to keep), pay for what you keep and return what you don’t want postage paid for you! The most you ever pay is the $20 styling fee, but I have yet to not like at least ONE item.
If you keep it all you get a 25% discount of the total!
You can get boxes as frequently as you want, with no minimum requirement. You can set up regular shipments at designated intervals or schedule them as you want them.
So here is what I got this shipment:
The items always come wrapped so pretty! There is also always a personal note from your stylist.
I will admit at first site I was disappointed in the lack of color for this fix :/
Item #1 & #2 – Calvon Side Slit Knit Top ($58) and Jessy Zipper Detail Legging ($88)
The shirt was nice, but really thin. I would have preferred more color. This was my number two pick, but I chose to only keep one item. The leggings were a little to edgy for my style. I liked them, but did not LOVE them, and I already have a pair of similiar colored leggings (sans zipper).
Verdict: RETURNED BOTH
Item #3 – Primmie Tunic ($64)
This shirt was my favorite from the bunch, though black and white, it did have some blue lines of detail throughout and I just really loved the fit. Baggy, but also fitting.
Verdict: KEPT
Item #4: Ed V- Neck Pullover Sweater ($88)
I liked it better on the styling card then on me. The sleeves gave it a bit of a Dolman feel, but it was really loose everywhere else. There was also a small hole in the seam (from a loose knit). Again, black/gray… I like color!
Verdict: RETURNED
Item #5 – Chennai Hooded Wrap Coat ($108)
Honestly, I loved the coat, super cute…but the price tag? No Thanks. Had I loved the other peices and kept it all, it would have been worth keeping (25% discount = $101.50, basically the price of the coat). But I didn’t love it all, and I also specifically stated NO OUTER WEAR in my profile. :/ I just couldn’t justify the price tage when I already have several coats (though not a cute as this one!).
I wasn’t over the moon with this fix, but I got one peice I really like, and I figure that a success, new item…easy on the pocket book this way AND I can order another box sooner! (If I buy it all, I space my shipments further apart).
I had stated on my stylist note that I was interested in leggings and long tops, so she did hit the nail on that one, but I really need COLOR in my wardrobe! I don’t think she has been looking at my pintrest board, even though I specifically linked it in my note (and it’s on my profile too). This bothers me a bit, because she could see COLOR, COLOR, COLOR! Just cause it’s winter, doesn’t mean I need to look gloomy! I might have liked them more if today wasn’t already a gray and gloomy day! The wardrobe matched it! ha!
The total for this FIX had I kept it all would have been:
Sub Total $406
-101.50 (25% discount)
-20.00 (styling fee credit)
Total $284.50
and average of just under $55/piece, but remember that coat was in there.
Instead I just kept the Tunic for $64 – 20 = $44
I have not been posting my stitch fixes on the blog everytime, but I have been posting on Instagram! Here is a few of my last fixes:
Numbers 7-10
