Weekend – Hubby had a delayed start for work due to the snow, and instead of going in for only 3 hours, he just took leave. This freed him up to take the kids swimming again! Another few hours off for me! Then we headed to my parents house for a surprise party for my Grandma’s 86th birthday. I hadn’t seen many of the family from that side in 6 years, it was so fun to see everyone. I wish more could have come! We hit up the Home Depot workshop by my parents while there. We stayed Friday and Saturday night and headed home Sunday. It was a nice weekend.
Monday – I was all prepared for a bad Monday because of being away for the weekend, and I will admit…I was pleasantly surprised! It was a great day!
Tuesday – I think they decided to make up for Monday being so great! ha! Just kidding, it wasn’t that bad, but it was a bit more bumpy then the previous day. I guess there has to be at least one semi-rough day a week, it’s like a rule or something!
Wednesday – We took a field trip to the Aviation Museum in College Park, MD. More on that for next week’s Field Trip Friday!
Thursday – Co-op! We missed the last co-op because of snow, it was so great to get back! The little ones all had a rough time of it though since it has been a while. K ended up with me because I could hear her crying down the hall from the nursery. She usually loves it. Hopefully next time she will do better, now I’m worried she liked it with me better and will never go back! O well!
Friday – Swimming, and I had to take them. I had 2 Friday’s off with Hubby home and taking them. The break was nice! I hear it’s suppose to rain tomorrow, so I’m not sure what our plans for the weekend will be.
This week we studied:
We started a Unit Study on George Washington, from Unit Studies by Amanda Bennett.
We are also studying Biomes…we started Grasslands this week with a video from Visual Learning Systems.
Our Read Aloud -
Books I am reading – Books for mom! I joined a book monthly book club and I’ve really enjoyed our last 3 selections, so I thought I would share with you! Though I have added Wonder to my 8yo Kindle (he reads about a 5th grade level), I think the first two selections could definitely be enjoyed by middle school+. The last book, while clean does have some reference to marital relations, nothing explicit, but probably more for 16+. As with all book recommendations, please read for yourself to decide before giving to your child.
