Week 29 in Review

Weekend – Hubby was camping with the scouts on Friday night, so it was me and the kiddos…we watched a movie – Honey, I Shrunk the Kids!, an old childhood favorite of mine!  They got to bed a bit late, and I stayed up WAY too late…needless to say Saturday morning was ROUGH!  We went to church on Sunday, but it was dismissed after first hour due to it snowing! 

Monday – Can we say “Just another Manic Monday?”…what is is it about Monday?  Ugh!  It was a rough day.  Hubby did have a delay to work, and well C decided he was going to make pancakes for breakfast (on his own).  Those were probably the highlights of the day…the rest I’ve chosen to block out! 

Tuesday -  A stay home day, we rarely get them…I treasure them!  The day went much better, and I know longer was questioning why I torture myself with homeschooling (not that I really think that, but on bad days, it’s sometimes hard to remember the reasons why I love it).   We got a surprise gift in the mail and they dug into some of it before bedtime!

 

Wednesday – By Wednesday we are back into things full force!  Though Baby Girl was being a real handful, everyone else was right on track, we had a great day!

Thursday – Snow Day!  We got 8 inches of snow, our field trip was cancelled (BOO!)  But we stayed home, did a shortened version of school and got some things done around the house!  Very productive day!  We also started 3 new review products!  We are BUSY!  BUSY!  Hubby was home from work and we had an ice cream party because C earned it as a reward on his GPALEARN program (review coming soon!)

Friday – Hubby had a very delayed open at work, so he just took off!  So I have another quiet Friday morning at home, as he took the boys to swimming!  Yeah!  Getting caught up on a few things and planning for the next school year!  We have Home Depot Workshop tomorrow and my Grandma’s 86th Birthday!

This week we studied:

We finished up the Constitution with Unit Studies by Amanda Bennett for History.   We watched SHHH! We are writing the Constitution through Hoopla Digital (free streaming through some libraries!)

For Science we started talking about Biomes, with Visual Learning Systems  (review coming soon) we watched the Desert Biomes video. I’ll have some Desert Workboxes coming up soon for the younger kids. 

I love my ChromeCast for all these online videos and lessons…I can stream them right to the big screen! 

We also started Cursive with C as part of a review with Memoria Press, and some other awesome reviews too!
