We have had the best last few weeks, and I didn’t have computer access to post about them…so I have a combo post this week with all the fun stuff we have been up to!!
Week of October 27th -
We had our church trunk or treat. Kids had a blast!
Monday was MMA afternoon and evening because we left town later that week and wanted to get out 2 classes in.
Tuesday was gymnastics, and then the rest of the day was spent packing! I’ll tell you packing for 5 (hubby packed himself) for almost 2wks (when there isn’t a washing machine) is taxing! Then we headed to VA that night so we could pick up my parents and hit the road Wednesday morning.
Wednesday – Baby Girls 1st Birthday was spent on the road! We left late morning to head south! About 6hrs in the car this day brought us half way to our destination! We stopped in SC for an overnight! We had lunch at a rest stop and appreciated a nearby cotton field!
Thursday – we hit the road again, final destination Winter Haven, Florida! It took about another 6hrs on the road to get there. The kids did great though…I’ll post more about our road trip and packing all that later
Friday – LEGOLAND!! C was so excited, he has been wanting to go to LEGOLAND for sometime! Read all about it at FIELD TRIP FRIDAY from this week! That evening we drove to Port Canaveral to stay the night at a hotel for our cruise the next day!
Saturday – Board the cruise boat!! More about our trip coming up on future FIELD TRIP FRIDAY posts! Homeschool Cruise!!
Sunday – our first Port of Call – Nassau, Bahamas
Week of November 3rd
Monday – Fun Day at Sea
Tuesday – Port of Call St. Thomas USVI. It ended up POURING down rain this day and we didn’t get to see much of the island, but we did get SOAKED!
Wednesday – Port of Call San Juan, Puerto Rico – This port was great, so full of history!
Thursday – Port of Call Grand Turks – Beautiful Island…Fun day at the beach
Friday – Fun Day at Sea
Saturday – Got off the boat and hit the road! We stopped by the LDS Temple in Orlando and then headed north! Made it half way stopping off again in SC for the night. Kids were so exhausted from their busy week, they were asleep in NO TIME!
Sunday – Homeward bound…about 6.5hrs and we made it to VA (my parents house). We stayed the night b/c from there it’s another 2.5hrs home for us. The older kids stayed awake the entire trip (guess they got all caught up on Saturday!)
Week of November 10th
Monday – we stopped by to visit with my Grandma before hitting the road home. Got home about 1pm. The kids immediately got to work making knight costumes from tape, paper towels and tin foil. (I think this was sparked by their watching Sword and the Stone on the road Sunday). Lots of laundry to do! My almost 4yo woke up during the night coughing horribly and not being able to breathe, almost called 911, so scary! Finally got him calmed down and doing better, he most likely has croup.
Tuesday – We did some ‘schooling’, played a math game and then the kids stayed home with hubby while I went to my first ever homeschool review (it went well). The kids helped rake leaves while I was gone (this is a first, since we don’t have fall in Hawaii). We watched a Brain Pop video about the Military, and also a music video 8th of November.
Wednesday – Back to work for hubby! This is house is a TOTAL wreck (worse part of vacation is unpacking). Some computer school and lots of putting away (I still have lots to do!). We were suppose to have a field trip this afternoon, but with c having croup, I rescheduled. The older boys did MMA instead.
Thursday – Another field trip cancelled. We will make it up again later though. c is doing better, though he still has an occasional bad cough…I was hoping he’d be up for swimming tomorrow, but I think I may have to keep him out. Bummer! (Since we missed 2 wks while on vacation) Guess we will see how he is doing tomorrow. We stayed home today, did some schooling, tried to play a math game…but I ended up frustrated. Not a good day for me…not sure why! I think I’m having post vacation depression! (kidding, but not)
Friday – swimming, drag the sick one along…but he didn’t swim. Then my mom came to watch the kiddos while I packed for our scrapbooking retreat…and just now I realized that I never posted our week in review (it’s 5pm Sat EST). It was a bit of a rough week, my house is in total disarray from our vacation, the kids had a hard time getting back into routine….the two youngest have colds, Z has allergy issues going on and now I have laryngitis!! Here is too a better week next week!!
