Our first stop on the cruise was Nassau, Bahamas! This was a neat little place, really pretty and warm (which I am really missing now!).
There was lots to see and do at this port…unfortunately we were there on a Sunday so a lot of shops were closed (which I thought was cool). It is a really religious island.
Places we visited: from top to bottom on the right hand side – Parliament Square, Inside and Outside of Fort Fincastle, Pirate Museum. Not pictured: Queen’s Staircase.
It is a beautiful island, lot’s of history…and my boys favorite part the cannons and pirates! The fort was only $1 per person and the views were beautiful! The pirate museum was more..$12 for adults, $6 for kids ages 4+. It was a nicely done museum, had some interactive questions and answers (flip the board to get your answer).
The only bad part of the island was when you get off the boat, you are LITERALLY BOMBARDED with people trying to sell you things! It was nuts, but once you push past them and say a lot of “no, thank you”, it wasn’t difficult to get around via foot.
They try and sell Conch shells for $10 each as well…just a heads up Grand Turks was FULL OF THEM all over the beach.
