Finally everyone got over their colds!! (for the most part!)
Monday we started the day with a check up for c (4yo) and baby K (1yo). The older two were back to martial arts and art class, finally!
Tuesday was a double header at gymnastics for c, (to make up for missed classes). Then we watched Garfield’s Thanksgiving on Hulu for a fun afternoon activity. We had a bit of a rough morning b/c I found out that C (8yo) had not been being honest about some of his computer work. I obviously need to check up on him more. :/ So frustrating!
Wednesday it snowed!! We had a short day and the kids played outside late morning. Then the hubby got home early and we hit the road for Thanksgiving!! Thankful for back routes, we were able to avoid the holiday traffic on the main highways! First time my family has been all together since before I moved to Hawaii, almost 4yrs ago!!
Thursday – Thanksgiving!!! We ate A LOT!! The boys each made a pie earlier in the week for dessert. They were well received!
Friday – The older two boys went shooting with their dad, grandpa and uncles. Us girls and the younger boys went to Target…nothing spectacular! But I did get a few stocking stuffers. Then we celebrated c’s 4th birthday and K’s 1st birthday with the family! c wanted his presents to be hidden (“like an Easter egg hunt”), He also helped decorate his cake!
Saturday – we got everyone together for family photos…that’s always fun! HA! Can’t wait to see how they turned out, I know it made my mom happy to get photos together! Last time I only had 2 kids (now there are four) and my nephew had just been born (he is 4.5yrs old now). Long overdue! It’s so nice to be near family again!! We headed back home after lunch.
Now it’s time to get ready to get back to normal school week starting Monday! We have been doing computer school classes mostly b/c of vacation and shortened weeks…now it’s time to get back into the swing of things! I love that we can be so flexible though! Even though we have done short days, my kids are still doing learning! I like to be more involved in their learning though and not just do all computer stuff, so we mix I up!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!
