I grew up watching him in elementary school….well Slim has a new endeavor and it can be found at www.healthcurriculum.org.
This website is a full Elementary (K-5th) HEALTH curriculum, including all health related topics. You can find copies of your states standards for the subject of health and design your lessons based on them, or design lessons according to your own interests or desires.
Each lesson is filled with video, worksheets, clip arts, etc.. You can pick and choose which aspects you would like to include in each lesson, and break it up over several lessons (as each topic has an abundance of choices). The video clips are all from the Slim Goodbody videos that many of us know and love from own elementary years.
There are 63 Topic choices ranging from Circulation to Bullying and from Goal Setting to Vegetables. Your bound to find topics that meet your educational needs.
Each child has their own log in account,. You assign each child their lessons, and they can log in and do them at their leisure. Under your account you can track the progress of each child.
The website is very easy to use, and the directions for navigating the site are easy to follow (though you may not even need them).
I know the question of health curriculum has come up in multiple homeschool forums, of which I’m a part. That’s why I was so excited to stumble upon this website, and have to the opportunity to try it out.
For only $36/yr for homeschooling families (includes all your children), this curriculum is VERY affordable, and a great way to give your children a comprehensive health study program. You can get a free 5 day trial to check it out before purchasing a year subscription.
I think that many will find THIS website to be a solution to their “what curriculum do I use for health?” woes. I hope you’ll check it out for yourself, and I’d love to hear what you think!
I tried your link to this health curriculum site and it just went to a search. I realized that you misspelled curriculum in your link! ;) Thank you for sharing this with everyone over at NOBH! The price per year for a family alone has me interested in checking it out!
