A Blog Hop designed to share 'FIELD TRIP' related Blog Posts
(does not have to be a 'home school field trip', can be any trip to any place with your children!)
So this was a busy week for Field Trips! We started with a trip to the butterfly lady in Kaneohe. Find out about her in this article and this You Tube news clip. Here are the pictures from our visit there (this was our 2nd time going)
We are raising Monarch’s of our own now, after planting a Crown Flower plant in our back yard we started getting caterpillars of our own. We bring them in to keep them safe, and the kids are having lots of fun with it! (and of course it went perfect with our butterfly theme this week). We have already let 3 butterflies go, and we have 6 chrysalis at the top of our container, and more caterpillars getting ready! Dancetta hosts open houses the first Saturday, every other month (January, March, May, etc..)
The next trip was to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Ewa Beach. In lieu of our recent tsunami warning, kids of course had lots of questions about tsunamis. A member of our local homeschool group works there, so he hooked us up with some tours. It was very informative.
Our third and final trip was more fun than educational….but fun is important too! We went to California Pizza Kitchen in Aiea. C got to tour the kitchen and make his own pizza!
So where’d you go this week? (or link up an older trip to share)
