This holiday weekend, we were quite busy enjoying the outdoors and local state parks. They have a ParkQuest program during the summer (I’ve mentioned it in a few of my Week in Review posts). The goal was to get 10 by the 7th, but we only got 7 in! O well! We still had fun.
Friday we visited Fort Frederick Stake Park
Saturday, after a Home Depot Kids Workshop, we visited Soldier’s Delight Natural Environment
Sunday we visited Cunningham Falls State Park
and
Monday we visited Rocky Gap State Park
at each location they have little challenges, or treasure hunts to complete. While doing so we learned about Native Americans, Mining, The French and Indian War and Animal Habitats!
If you completed 10 you got your name in a prize drawing and you get first dibs on participating next year. Hopefully we can still get in next year.
By Monday night I was literally EXHAUSTED!! We hiked 5 miles on Monday and several more over the other days….
