Dear Homeschooling Mom,
I know some days are hard! You may question yourself often. Am I doing a good job? Am I failing my children? Would they be better off in school?
Know this much – No one cares more about you children than you! No one is more invested in their well being than you! No one wants them to succeed more than you!
You are doing a great job! Keep it up! Some days may be hard, but hold on to the good days! Take it a day at a time! Don’t be afraid to revamp, reevaluate or reinvent!
You can do this! Take time to have fun! Enjoy the ride; enjoy your children! Don’t get caught up in the hard times, treasure the good times!
"Teaching in the home is becoming increasingly important in today's world, where the influence of the adversary is so widespread and he is attacking, attempting to erode and destroy the very foundation of our society, even the family. Parents must resolve that teaching in the home is a most sacred and important responsibility."
Here is the full talk: "Mothers Teaching Children in the Home," by Elder L. Tom Perry, General Conference April 2010
Ours is a most important work! We may not be able to get it all done, but we need to remember what is most important! It’s not sparkling floors or shiny toilets! It’s loving our children!
Don’t get pulled in to comparing yourself to other moms. Comparison is the robber of joy! Compare only to your BEST SELF! There is always room for improvement, no one is perfect, we we needn’t compare ourselves to others!
Love,
A Homeschool Mom who needed this reminder!
