I mean really LOST arts! I have the best of intentions when it comes to music and art, but they always seem to be put on the back burner!
I’ve found some really great curriculums that have made implementing the subjects easier, but it’s still about finding the time! Grr!
By the time we get the main subjects in, we are beat…and put art and music on hold for the day.

We also love ARTistic Pursuits! We have also used Geography Through Art quite a bit - it integrates art projects in social studies.
ReplyDeleteWell, the way I integrate music is by enforcing violin practice daily - even if it's just for 10 minutes - and we listen to classical music throughout the day as they play and I cook or during meals. Art consists of looking at art books during tea time, crafts we do for our Bible class, and various things I pick online. We LOVE the Home Art Studio DVDs, too.
ReplyDeleteWe like the Home Art Studio DVDs. It's a struggle to schedule art time consistently, but we manage. Music: I enforce daily violin practice even for 10 minutes. We listen to classical music during meals or while they play.
ReplyDeleteArt and music are difficult for me to incorporate into our daily schedule. Thankfully we have some good art classes at our homeschool co-op, and the kids get music at church through our children's and youth choirs. Stopping by from Boost Your Blog.

We're loving Kinderbach here! My 6 year old son wants to do All The Lessons in one fell swoop every time I get it out, LOL! I also like Artistic Pursuits, but it's very easy to set that one aside and forget it, too. I did sign up for Classical Composers, and that really helps our composer studies. The best thing for me has been having a small Charlotte Mason co-op. That keeps me accountable to teach those things at least twice per month. We generally follow the Ambleside Online schedule, but we break out and do our own thing sometimes. This next term, for example, we will be studying Van Gogh, because there is a museum exhibit locally about him that is supposed to be cool, and John Williams for our composer, because we all enjoy his movie soundtracks. :-)
