Flash Kids is a company that has designed and provided workbooks for grades PreK through 6th.  They are great for extra practice on subjects, keeping brains sharp during the lazy summer months, or learning and reinforcing new skills.
I am not a HUGE fan of workbooks, particularly in the early elementary years. BUT my kids and I, both found these to be enjoyable.  The lessons were short enough that they didn’t stress out my children (ages 4 & 7), the illustrations were eye catching and engaging.
Space in the writing book was sometimes limited, which stressed my 7yo out, but we managed.  I felt the tasks were on grade level (though in the descriptions on the site it lists grade level and age, the age listed is significantly younger than the grade level).
What each book includes is pretty well defined by the title of the workbook.  Though writing skills touches base on grammar and writing…not necessarily handwriting, just to be clear.

I found these workbooks to be a great means of testing my son’s reading comprehension.  He is technically 2nd grade this year (age 7), but he reads at a much higher level.  The Flash Forward Reading Workbook has allowed us to focus on comprehension, and to make sure he is understanding what her reads.
My 7yo enjoys the short and sweet lessons that workbooks entail, so we do use them outside of the main subjects (History and Science).  We will continue to use these workbooks throughout the coming year.
