Reverence Jar

After reading a post at Latter-Day Homeschooling, I made a goal to use The Friend Magazine more often.  In our daily reading we stumbled upon this article, REVERENCE IS LOVE AND RESPECT FOR GOD (November 2011 Issue)and followed through with the activity.  So I wanted to share.  We used it for the first time this Sunday (today) and C pulled it out before I had even gotten out of bed, he was so excited to use it!

I just taped the label to an old jelly jar, I printed it on cardstock, so the papers inside were a little more durable.

You can find the article HERE, which includes the activity sheet which you can print to make your own Reverence Jar.  It could easily be adapted to other religions as well.

This week we are working on “Thank Heavenly Father for your blessings”

Some other uses for the FRIEND:

After we finish reading the issue, we removed the puzzles, mazes, hidden pictures, etc… I put them in cover sheets in a notebook for quiet activities to do during sacrament.  The inside of the back cover, also usually has a picture of a scripture character, which I also add to the notebook, making a picture book of them.

  1. Now that my daughter just turned 4 I'm going to pull out our friend magazine and read it with her. Before she just loved looking at the pictures.
