My most influential teacher was Ms. Pena in 4th grade. She loved art and introduced us to Impressionism, which I love to this day. She also saw potential in me and helped me into the gifted program. I will always remember how wonderful she was.

ReplyDeleteMy 12th grade math teacher was awesome. She had a stern demeanor, but she was such a good person. I don't ever recall having another teacher that cared as much as she did. She made the difference between giving up or pressing on.
ReplyDeleteMy most influential teacher was my 8th grade english teacher who prayed with us before every test. I aced 8th grade English!
ReplyDeleteMy most influential teacher was Ms. Brackney in 4th 5th grade... she taught me how to really learn and taught us all life applicable lessons. She was always very interested in our academic development and cared about every student. (P.S. This is great! Thanks!)
ReplyDeleteMy third grade teacher. She was a natural. She was old when I was in third grade and retired soon after so I never got to go back and visit to tell her how much I appreciated her wisdom, wit and ease with children. I had no idea how to tell her this at that age :) I hope my children have wonderful teachers like her.

ReplyDeleteMy cello teacher in highschool was my most influential teacher. He was very hard on me, but he was also someone I looked up to and who inspired me to be the very best I could be - not just in music but life in general.

I have the opposite- my most influential teacher was my orchestra director in high school, not because he was amazing, but because he was horrible. We never preacticed (it was basically a study hall). He didn't care about us, we always sounded terrible and never went anywhere. He made me want to become a teacher so that I could give kids what they deserved.
ReplyDeleteOther than my mother who taught me to truly love and enjoy my family and love to learn, my favorite teacher was Mrs. Bitner. She was an immigrant from Spain and she was tough and would only accept your best effort. She could not only teach you "hard things" but she taught you that you can do hard things if you put your mind to it. I'll never forget her.

ReplyDeleteMy most influential teacher would have to be my high school math teacher. I loved math and she helped me believe in myself and be more outgoing in the area of math! I still love it and now my son does too.
ReplyDeleteMy most influential teacher was probably my 11th grade chemistry teacher. I had previously felt like science just wasn't my thing but she was so laid back and fun, and presented all the material in such a direct, easy to understand way that I enjoyed a science class! I'll never be a "scientist" but she truly opened my mind.
ReplyDeleteFor me, most influential teacher in school was my business teacher. I went to a vocational school, and my business teacher was sweet, understanding and firm, and taught me everything I needed to know to be ready for a job in the 'real world'. I wound up being a paralegal/admin.secretary for a few years, but now, SAHM/Homeschooler is my favorite job!
ReplyDeleteMy most influential teacher was my child ed teacher. many things I learned there I was able to transfer to my own family now. It also was great to have support when I had my first in Highschool.

ReplyDeleteMy 6th grade teacher, Mr. Plummer. He was the first teacher to really care about each student, *sh and challenge us to go beyond the textbook and show us respect.

I don't remember any teacher specifically, but I remember a wonderful girl scout leader. She was a fabulous roll model for young girls.
