Field Trip #3 Blog Hop

Photobucket

A Blog Hop designed to share 'FIELD TRIP' related Blog Posts

(does not have to be a 'home school field trip', can be any trip to any place with your children!)

We went to Waimea Valley and Falls last Saturday as a family.
It was a short scenic hike on a paved path to the waterfall.  We got rained on several times, but we still had a fun time!
Checking out the map
Those look like Cannonballs!
He apparently wasn't the only one who thought so!

They had a Hawaiian games section, the boys had a lot of fun playing  the ancient games, and C even got pretty good at it.
There were cut off sections of tree limbs that they were rolling to try and get between two sticks in the ground.
A little one-on-one correspondence, I asked DH to try and come up with something similar for at home because they had so much fun with it.  This is an ancient Hawaiian game, similar to checkers.
They had a grass weaving class to make these fish, but we got there just as they were finishing up, the nice lady teaching the class gave each of the boys her examples.
