First Day

So, my baby started Kindergarten today.  Trying to get him to take a serious picture is near impossible.  But I wanted to document his first day... (he also refused to turn his shirt around the correct way...it's backwards)

The day went well.  We started at 8am and we were done at 10am.  We are starting out easy, reviewing stuff he already knows as far as phonics and reading because he doesn't like to sound words out, so I want to reiterate the letter sounds and how to sound things out, to make sure he knows how.  I outlined his work boxes in the post before this one.  The first hour he and I worked together (for Reading, Phonics, Spelling), while Z went through his workboxes, they had snack (and we do our first read aloud) and then Z worked with us the 2nd  hour (for Math, Chinese, Handwriting, Science, and Geography).
Z has 6 work boxes, they contained:
#1  Leap Phonics Library
#6 Melissa & Doug Beginner Pattern Blocks

C has 10 work boxes, you can see his work box schedule for this week here (or the previous post)

After they finished each box, I had them stack them at the side of the room, now they are ready for me to fill them for tomorrow!  (Z's were a little harder to stack, since his items were so bulky, but we still worked it out).

Aside from my allergy issues today, it was a great day!  And so begins our Kindergarten Journey!!
