We had so much fun with the Pirate Treasure Hunt by Clued in Kids. We used it recently at a party for my son’s birthday/baptism and had lots of kids over. I thought this would be a perfect time to hide his gifts and set up the Pirate Treasure Hunt!
It was SOOO Easy! It took very little prep, only a few minutes to set up too! The card tells you where to hid the clue, most places are inside (though a few were outdoors, like near a bike, in the mailbox). There is a line to put names on each card (for each kid in attendance, so each has a chance to solve the clue, and eliminates squabbling).
The kids ran all around the house finding these clues and had so much fun!
The only complaint I got was from my 9yo cousin (She has Asperger’s) and she was said “Jenny, the treasure hunt was fun and all, but I was really hoping for the treasure to be gold and jewels!” Maybe next time!
We had 6 kids participating in the hunt, but it can be done with 1-10 kids, ages 4+ (Younger kids may need assistance, as reading and sometimes writing is involved). This hunt came in a printed pad, pages were easily ripped off and put in the designated places. All places were common household places that majority of homes would have (though some may not, such as a bike, a washing machine, a mailbox, near markers, etc…)
This would be lots of fun for any playdate or party with young children, or simply as a family activity.
There are many different themes to choose from (stay tuned for another review in October for this company with some different themed hunts). This particular theme (Pirates) is available for $8.99. Some hunts are printable and some (like this one) come already printed.
Easily add this hunt to your pirate themed study or party! What a fun way to celebrate International Talk Like A Pirate Day this week!!
