US History–Vikings, Columbus, and Pocahontas

history 1

We are using Beautiful Feet Books as our core outline for history this year.  With the baby and the move, we are JUST STARTING our school year.  We have been unschooling all year until now, and while that was nice, I need more structure to make sure we are getting things done.  During that time we mostly worked on the 3R’s, and then did side learning based on whatever popped up.

Anyhow, I’m not that impressed with the teacher book, the questions and all that go along with Beautiful Feet Book, BUT I really like the books in the program so far.  So we are following their order of things, and supplementing as we go.

I was happy to have been able to review Golden Prairie Press, we are using that as a supplement now, as well as Media Steaming (my kids love any excuse to watch TV since we limit their viewing) and some additional books.

Here is what we have been up to over the last month or so.
