Colorado and West Virginia

It’s been a while since I posted a state study, but have no fear, I have not abandoned them!
Wanted to share the books we read for that last two states we studied.  We of course did our state symbols cards, and post cards.  For links to those cards, and other resources we use for our state studies, see my first state study post HAWAII

and we made some Colorado Peach Cobbler (but I forgot to take pictures!)  It had sort of a buttery shortbread topping, it was very good, but it took longer to bake then the recipe said…and we used canned peaches.  You can get the recipe HERE.
We took a week off of state studies for Halloween Fun, then we have our break (we school for about 3wks and then break for one).  We’ll be back into our state studies November with Nevada and Oregon!

  2. Hi, I live in Australia and am an early childhood teacher too. I also love history and have a blog about the time of the American Wild West. I am not sure if this is of use to homeschoolers I just have always had an interest in this era. I hve joined in your blog hop just in case - thank you from Cowboy Chronicles
